Hi. I’m Caroline Voigt and I work at VarCity Studios. I wanted to challenge myself this week by drinking a GALLON of water every single day. I run for my school’s cross country team and we have our last big meet of the season this Saturday. Maybe staying hydrated will make me the next Usain Bolt- who knows?!
Did I do any research? Not really.
I found some YouTube videos of people taking on the challenge and the only bad thing I found was a chance of “water intoxication”. Turns out I could drown if I drink too much, but I would have to CHUG a gallon all at once for that to happen.
I drink about 20-30 ounces of water per day (for reference, a regular water bottle is 16.9 ounces. There are 128 ounces in a gallon- so I really have to up my game.
I didn’t make it to a gallon. It was much harder than I thought.
I make an 8 ounce cup of mint tea every morning and I need all of the help I can get so thats an automatic 8 ounces- only 120 to go!
I use the same reusable water bottle every day which is 25 ounces- I would need almost 5 of them to reach my goal. Unfortunately, I only was able to finish 3. That, plus my morning tea totals 83 ounces. 45 ounces short.
